Both rubber pepper balls and silica gel pepper balls need vulcanization process to manufacture, but the vulcanization process of rubber pepper balls and silica gel pepper balls is quite different. In the vulcanization process, external conditions cause chemical reaction between raw rubber and vulcanizing agent or between raw rubber and raw rubber, and macromolecules in linear rubber pepper balls cross-link to form macromolecules with network structure. Through this reaction, various properties of rubber are greatly improved, and rubber pepper balls can obtain physical and mechanical properties and other properties that can meet the needs of product use. The essence of vulcanization is crosslinking, that is, the process of linear rubber molecules transforming into spatial network structure.

In the vulcanization production process of silica gel pepper ball and rubber pepper ball, rubber and silica gel changed from linear structure to bulk structure through a series of complex chemical reactions, losing the plasticity of rubber mixture and having the high elasticity of cross-linked rubber, thus obtaining excellent physical and mechanical properties, heat resistance, solvent resistance and corrosion resistance, and improving the use value and application scope of rubber pepper ball.
